The Steppes

"No lad! Do not look at the lands behind ya! Look out to the seas boy. The horizon could be yours one day. What a kingdom that would be, eh?"

Cadlym Bolluln to Joeseph Moss, grandson of Walter Moss, prior to his departure East to the Southern Lands

The southwestern lands, coasts, and cliff faces of the Salvae Empire from the southern Twin River to the east to the Baltos Forest to the northeast is the region of the Steppes. The Steppes and parts of the Southern Lands were prize for those that took part in The Southern Expansion campaign. But much the south was still wild and untamed and many would-be heroes, adventurer and highborn alike, would fall during those decades. It was Lord Bastion Holt and his Brotherhood of the Silver Shields that would bring the Steppe into the Salvae fold. Houses Moss, Harmon Shaw, Faalcone, Ingram, and Westman were all part of the SIlver Shields and were the primary inheritors and conquerors of the region during the Second Age.   That is until the Summer's Ide of 758, when the final wedge would be driven between the heirs of the original Silver Shields and ignite the civil war campaign of The Tumultuous South. When nearly every noble House was ended; all but Houses Moss and Westman, in name and blood, remain today. The barony of House Moss has ruled the lands and waters of the Steppes from Adrimor's Reach ever since.

Structure

The Steppes are under the rulership of the barony of House Moss. House Moss holds the fealty of the barony of House Westman and the knighthood of House Warwick.
