Bagonbreak

Great house: House Gha'ard

Ruling House: House Gha'ard

Other Houses: House Bagon

Notable Features:

The Gha'ard Baracks- The main training ground for the conscripted armies of House Gha'ard are first trained. It is famed for it brutality and high mortality rate among its serfs. The often make use of House Barkann dogs or captured beasts from The Brair-Wild in training. Common phrases from these grounds include "If you will not be bent, then you will be broken" or "Steel before Sleep"

The Officer's quarters- The area of Bagonbreak where House Gha'ard and any nobles live. It is forbiden for any serf or commoner to step foot in this area on pain of death as even the servants are of minor noblity. That is not to say that Serfs or commoners never go here, in fact they are frequently brought here for amusement by the residing nobles, but the penalty of death is never forgotten

The Safe-Gha'ard- A large bank where House Gha'ards heavy taxes upon noble house in their domain are stored. The building resembles a large iron shape in its constrauction and is frequently patroled by House Barkann dogs and Noble guards

The Sons’ Wall: A colossal wall surrounding the area of Bagonbreak, built from stone and engraved with the names of every first-born son conscripted into House Gha’ard’s service. Fresh names are carved weekly by tradition. The walls are always manned and are design to withstand assault from both with in and with out, as the wall is designed not only to defend, but to prevent any from leaving with out permision

Culture: Life in Bagonbreak is rigid, harsh, and honor-bound. From birth, citizens are taught obedience, physical resilience, and the virtue of sacrifice. Gender roles are strictly enforced, with male heirs expected to serve militarily and women largely relegated to domestic or logistical roles unless born noble.

The faith of Ba-Rhad (god of order and creation) and sects of The Steel Clerics are dominant, but Gha’ard-approved interpretations emphasize martial law and divine hierarchy. Carrijon is also invoked before battle, and some whisper prayers to TThe Other in the darkest corners of the barracks, though this is heresy punishable by death.

History: Originally founded by Hosue Bagon with a different name, The Gha’ard line invaded after the subjugation of its previous ruling great house (now forgotten and forbidden to mention) fell, Bagonbreak was reforged as a living testament to martial control. The province was originally more fertile and peaceful, but the rise of House Gha’ard led to decades of military reform and forced conscription.

When Moonband began drifting into autonomy, Bagonbreak built walls and outposts rather than negotiate. Its officers still call Moonband “The Soft-Wood Province,” and rumors persist of planned campaigns to retake it by force.

Economy: Bagonbreak’s economy is built on:

Military exports: Hardened conscripts, weapons, armor, and siege equipment

Logging and coal mining: Though the rainforest is protected in name, vast stretches are clear-cut for fuel and lumber

Harsh tax systems: Serfs and Commoners are expected to tithe labor or sons and failure results in swift punishment

Most food is grown by House Bagon with only barely enough being produced to prevent the need for food imports. At least for the nobles and their militarys, as many bellow them go hungry. But House Gha'ard refuses to seem weak in the eyes of the other great houses by importing food from them.
