The Other

Titles: The Other, The First to Fall, The God in Chains, The Betrayer Below, The Crown of Lies

Domains: Knowledge, Order, Trickery, War

Symbol: A broken crown held in a chained hand

Personality: The Other was once counted among the divine who shaped the world. Some myths say he was the first to be born from the forge of Ba-Rhad, a being of radiant authority and endless ambition. But pride led him astray. He believed he alone should lead creation. That the world should reflect his vision of perfect hierarchy and eternal control.

Where Ba-Rhad forged balance, The Other craved dominion. Where Rae-Diant brought peace, he offered obedience. Where Jover brings entertainment, he demands uniformity. When mortals were given the freedom to fail, The Other sought to bind them with chains of purpose and design. His rebellion was swift and terrible. Though many of the gods were caught off guard, he was ultimately cast down by the will of the pantheon, chained beneath the world, sealed beyond time.

To speak his name aloud is considered blasphemy in nearly every corner of the Oligarchy. Even The Steel Clerics of Ba-Rhad refuse to mention him by name in their deepest forges. Most refer to him only as “The Other,” and temples to him are torn down on sight. His sigil is forbidden. His worshipers, when found, are executed without trial.

Still, his influence has not vanished. Some hedge wizards speak of strange bargains made in dreams. Others whisper of ancient vaults beneath the earth where his chained voice still echoes, offering secrets in return for loyalty.

Clergy: Officially, none. Worship of The Other is banned under the Laws of Divine Sanction. Temples to him are destroyed and books that name him are burned. Still, rumors persist of forbidden orders known as The Bound Crown or The Chained Truth, hidden cults that believe the Oligarchy itself was born from The Other’s teachings, and that one day he will rise again to reclaim what is his. These cultists often hide in plain sight, using coded language and false devotion to the approved pantheon.

Legacy: Some theologians, when brave enough to debate the topic, claim The Other’s ideas were not destroyed, only repackaged. The strict hierarchies of Noble Houses . The Serf Travel Ban. The suppression of knowledge and magic for commoners. These things, they say, are not the will of Ba-Rhad but the lingering fingerprints of The Other, echoed in the structure of the Oligarchy itself.

Even now, in certain corners of the world, some claim you can hear the sound of dragging chains in the earth beneath your feet. And if you listen too long, you may begin to understand what they say.
