Torfenhoft
Settlement of the Chauken at the very southern end of the Chaukenlande. It is positioned between the Teutanes Forest, the Riedenbog and the Barkenboom Bog, right next to the Torfensee so that the rather new traderoute with the Ampsivaren to the south have to pass through here on the landroute.
The region is rich in peat and clay, making it valuable for building and heating materials, especially in combination with the nearby old birches in the Barkenboom Bog.
