Fraeton the Usurper

The Green Dragon Lord

Fraeton the Usurper is the Green Dragon Lord and one of the most powerful beings in the world, though the fear surrounding the Dragon does not come from his power, but his influence. He has been behind many wars and uprisings against the Elves of Camor, who he detests.

History

Fraeton was one of the first beings to walk Totania. While it is unclear if this order is true, the first living creature, Kath the Eternal, the Golden Dragon Lord, says that all of the first beings were Dragon Lords, and that the order goes:
  • Kath the Eternal- Gold
  • Zome, Lord of Red- Red
  • Reoma the Wretched- Black
  • Fraeton the Usurper- Green
  • Jarrur, Lord of the Dark- Purple
  • Meghorranth the Cunning- Blue
  • Inrilyth the Hushed- White
  • Nammat the Unseen- Brown
  • Yddris the Redeemer- Silver
  • Brunnir the Brave- Bronze
  • Cano the Treacherous- Iron
  • Zolzrum the Wise- Fuccium
  • Tavet the Friendly- Brass
  • Tamrig the Unpredictable- Mercury
  • Urved the Voiceless- Cobalt
  • Xeildrom the Jealous- Copper

The Fourth Dragon

As the fourth living mortal on Totania, though mortal is a strange title for the ageless Dragon Lords, Fraeton thought highly of himself.   However, in truth, he was the runt of his litter of non-metal Dragons. While Nammat was the weakest, Fraeton was the smallest and therefore easiest for Kath the Eternal to keep in line. Therefore, for quite some time, Fraeton lived in the mountains with Kath until finally he couldn't take it any longer.   Even in a much weaker state than Kath, Fraeton was able to use tricks to escape, using Ancient Draconic to manipulate his situation and escape into the Elven Forest.   Kath allowed him to escape, some say, for Fraeton would then spend almost his entire life in that forest, dealing with Elves that at the time did not even exist.
Those Elves would be the very bane of his existence, but they were not immediate foes. On the contrary, the Elves and Fraeton once were great allies in a war that all on Totania know.

The Holy Rebellion

Fraeton the Usurper gained his title through his act, of usurping Kath's power over himself, but he wouldn't truly earn it until he participated in the Holy Rebellion. No one knows the true reason he did so, nor how Meiriris Nerifir even convinced him to join her side of the war against the Gods.

All that is known is that Fraeton helped the Elves and Orcs to overthrow the Gods Satanael and Mimir, doing his first true usurping.   It is also known, then, that something happened. Whether Meiriris or he did something is unclear, but one of them betrayed the other, creating a feud between the immortal Fraeton and the entire Nerifir royal line. Specifics are lost to time, but it is known he participated in various wars and likely killed Meiriris's daughter, the second Queen, Holara Nerifir.

The Usurper of the Forest

Fraeton would remain in the forest, constantly plotting against the Nerifirs and trying to kill Elves. He despised them, though his reasoning is muddied by historical texts and his own accounts, where he does not remember the exact reason after thousands of years.   Often he manipulates others to act for him. It is unknown how, but he had some role in Anais Mundro founding the Exilés nation to oppose the Nerifir royals.   Most question how much Anais truly listened to him, if even at all, but he at the very least claims that he was behind the creation of the Exilés nation.   Some say he also had his hand in the Elven Civil War between Fleat Pteethtack and Quothas Nerifir, though both deny his involvement. One can never be sure, when there is trouble with the Elves, if Fraeton had his hands in the pot. All that is known is that he will claim he did something, and will take advantage of it to keep power in his small region of the forest.
