Khraxxara

The thing, or creature, known as Khraxxara, was seized from its plane of existence against its will, by Aesa. She knew this plane, lost to memory or knowledge, was a place of fecundity and growth, of things and creatures that would procreate and increase, seeking always to birth new copies of itself. She believed that a union between just one of these creatures and a god, would enable her people to replenish themselves faster than the usurper Titans. She tore this creature from its home, and was horrified when it instantly launched itself at her in despair, unable to communicate or ask why it was now separated from its own kind, unable ever to return.   The name, Khraxxara, was the first thing the creature heard, as well as the curses of revulsion that followed. It was driven away, but hunted down Ulantarr. Centuries later, those few priests that have been able to meld their minds with the turbulent chaos of their God have whispered that it sensed the loneliness of the Mischief Prince, and saw a kindred spirit, but without the words or ability to communicate, it only received rejection.   In the clash that followed, that is told elsewhere, all of Khraxxara’s growth was destroyed, save for three new gods, Cutalazz, Sybinyl, and Gardaran. Although Khraxxara fled, it knew also that these were the last three beings it would ever create, because Aesa had done something to it, making it sterile. Normally, Khraxxara’s fellow beings would exist together, in great mystical and stellar shoals, never alone and always singing in the depths of mind and soul. And yet in the unutterable silences, the impregnable loneliness, of its life on Torthe it could see nothing of its once carefree, glorious life amongst the Shoals.   Khraxxara, imbued with the power of both Aesa and Ulantarr, as well as the shredded fragments of its thousand children, became a new God, unique amongst the pantheon save for Calculix. It is neither Titan, nor God, but instead the last and immortal echo of a species that can never come to Torthe. Its anger, its gathered power, made it the mindless god of storms, or the Stormthing. It has no abode, and knows no allegiance or allies, save perhaps the quiet pity and understanding given to it by Nefferlasta.   It returns at least once each year to the place where its children were killed, and deep within those groves of Arden Forest, the storms strike wild and in a rage so total, so cold and sharp, that the area is impenetrable. The cold and lighting can strip a soul into a maelstrom. Some scholars have written that in those moments, if more than one or two souls are gathered, Khraxxara soars as an echo of the great Shoal that once sheltered him, and it is in these moments that its priests listen for its whispers. There are times also, when Khraxxara, tapped into the worldless movements of Torthe, will know the change of an era comes, and often for two or three years there are great and terrible storms the length and breadth of the world. After these times, Khraxxara has been known to finally be able to speak, drawing on the energies of the dead souls it has claimed, and those who can hear it will understand powerful truths unknown to any others.
