Amaunator
Amaunator is the Grand Deity of Suns. He was once worshiped as the God of the Sun, but over the years, the Greater Deity of Lathander formed and took over the role of Sun God for the planet of Toril, being God of the specific Sun that Toril orbits.
Amaunator's temples can still be found all over Faerûn, and they are now used as general places of worship where the majority of the Faerûnian pantheon can be worshiped.
Many have forgotten who Amaunator is, they believe it is merely some sort of alter-ego of Lathander, and the confusion is obviously understandable, as it is fairly strange to have two Sun Gods in the same Pantheon. A common saying is that Amaunator is Lathander's father - this may very well be true - they say that Amaunator was born to Sharess and Amaunator, suggesting these two Grand Deities have a more intimate relationship than most would believe.
