Neo-Classical Faerûnean Sect

The Neo-Classical Faerûnean Sect differs from the Traditional Faerûnean Sect, in that it either wholly or partially conforms to a style of worship in which multiple deities are worshiped through the same temples. The Neo-Classical followers believe that the Deities are organized into sub-pantheons that naturally group them together. The Neo-Classical Faerûnean Sect also believes in Saints, which are humans who have ascended to become Celestials of such power, that they rival Demi-Gods (Whereas Demi-Gods traditionally roam the planes or linger in the Prime Material, Saints serve some sort of specific purpose for their Deity, and some eventually rise to become Lesser Deities in their own right). The Neo-Classical Faerûnean Sect is called as such because this style of worship mirrors the traditional Netherese style, where most Gods were worshiped under the same roof - though temples with a singular dedication did exist, they were often remote and more akin to Monasteries or played a vital role in the specific governing of the particular clergies.   In the true Neo-Classical Faerûnean Tradition, every temple is dedicated to a Sub-Pantheon, but has a primary dedication to one specific deity from that sub-pantheon, often based on some sort of local significance - but an astounding number of these temples are Temples of Lathander, because an overwhelming amount of Temples of Amaunator were converted into Temples of Lathander, and during the Netherese times, most temples were dedicated to the most powerful of the Gods and all others were worshiped there as well.   The faith of Amaunator has returned, but Amaunator is a Primordial, and while he once sought worship, he no longer seems to desire any worship, but instead, the Clergy of Amaunator have resurfaced as the authorities on the Sect as a whole, and hold worship for the entire Sub-Pantheon instead of for their own God. As such, in the Neo-Classical Sect, Amaunator is viewed as the chief deity of the Sub-Pantheon of Gods primarily worshiped within this Sect.

Divine Origins

This Sect and their methods are based on Netherese traditions, but the style of faith resurfaced in the 1200's in some communities, but almost two centuries ago, the Sect had a sudden boom, when the faith of Amaunator resurfaced in its current form.
