Kingdom of Whiteshore

Whiteshore was the northen kingdom, located north of Siniadòr.
Whiteshore was a very powerful kingdom, who fought for its independance from the Orrin Empire from 2835 BD to 2831 BD.

Culture

The kingdom of Whiteshore was a powerful and independent kingdom, known for its fierce resistance against the Orrin Empire. One of the customs of the kingdom was to bury its kings and queens in grand tombs, known as krypts. These krypts were grandiose structures, built in honor of the ancient leaders and adorned with intricate decorations. To ensure the protection of these tombs for eternity, the kingdom would sacrifice servants of the sovereign, turning them into undead, mostly skeletons, to act as guardians of the tomb. These krypts were filled with puzzles and traps, designed to keep the undead inside and protect the tomb, but often times these traps were quite simple to overcome, as their primary function was to keep the undead inside and not intruders out.

Royal Games

A series of festivities in honor of the ruler. The festival takes place at several locations throughout the kingdom. The final event of the games is the Battle of the Champions, a tournament of knightly combat.

History

Genesis

The northern people of the Orrin empire wanted autonomy and freedom. In an attempt to ease them, the empire proclaimed the north of its territory the kingdom of Whoteshore, a supposedly independent kingdom under the empire's protection. But the independence and autonomy were none existent, and the northlanders started a revolution.
The war started, the battlefront quickly moved to the south, the northlanders gaining control over the snowy plains with ease. However, when the northlanders army reached the Whiteearth mine, the most important mine of gold in the empire, the battle escalated. Orrin unwilling to lose this important supply of gold, and Whiteshore hoping it would fuel its economy, the two fought over the landmark, and the mine ended up destroyed in the process.
This evenement marked the end of the war, which was named after the battles opposing the armies near the mines. With a partial victory of Whiteshore, the northlanders were now goldless but independent.

Child queen

Sitting upon the throne of Whiteshore, the Child appears an unlikely ruler. Though she is only 8 years old, the kingdom’s crown rests easy upon her head. When her father was assassinated, it was assumed by many within the court that he had no heirs. The head of one of the capital’s guilds, long thought to conceal a den of thieves and murderers, stepped forward with a young woman that he claimed was the late king’s daughter.
The Crown of Whiteshore is known to allow only those of the royal bloodline to bear it, and when The Child was coronated without incident, the kingdom accepted her as their ruler. Though all acknowledge that she has acted wisely beyond her years, there are unsavory aspects to her reign that began at its outset. The guild of her adoptive father has begun to use her influence to thwart the ambitions of its rivals. Corrupt bureaucrats have been allowed to act with impunity and there are a number of fanatical agents of the crown that violently punish those that speak out against the crown’s rule.
Ryel, the royal advisor in closest confidence to The Child, has begun to suspect that the crown might bear a curse. In many negotiations, she seems to be listening to some unheard voice and her edicts have a harsh edge at odds with her normally cheerful demeanor. In addition, those faithful to the court that have been awarded with special rings display an unquestioning devotion to The Child. Local rumors and legends seem to bear out Ryel’s suspicions, and he is increasingly desperate to find a way to end the influence of this artifact which he has come to refer to as the Whispering Crown.
Ryel, has begun to unravel the secrets of the Whispering Crown. He suspects that there may be other heirs that might be better able to resist the influence of the crown. Ryel reached out to adventurers to ask them to track down these lost siblings. The clues lead to the guild of her adoptive father.
After a long and dangerous journey, the adventurers uncovered the truth about the Child and the spell controlling her. They discovered that The Child was actually a simulacrum, under the control of her adoptive father. With the help of the adventurers, Ryel was able to break the enchantment on the Crown and claim his rightful place as the new king of Whiteshore.
Since this incident, the crown's spell only allowing people of royal bloodline to wear it was broken.

Last queen

Centuries later, a dragon named Feth'razaal Goldenhide accessed the throne, the people of Whiteshore hoping the dragon's wisdom would lead their kingdom to a new age of glory. However, Feth'razaal revealed herself to be a greedy leader, demanding golden tribute from her subjects. In time, however, her hunger for power and wealth surpassed her subjects' ability to pay homage, especially with the lack of gold mine, and she exacted tribute another way: by claiming the souls of the dead. As her once-great realm fell into decline, Feth'razaal hoarded more and more souls until she was visited by Asmodeus, Lord of Hell.
Feth'razaal left the kingdom to decay, abandoning her throne, but it was already too late, the kingdom failed to rise again and collapsed into numerous independant clans of northlanders.
