Elisia's Festival

Human celebration

On the 14th of Nínui, the holiday known as Elisia's Festival, is celebrated in Tana's Empire.   It seems that in every house in the empire, on this day, romantic legends are being sung for the younger generation. The inns offer a free room to travelling couples. If such kindness had been given to all, it is said it would always be springtime in the world.   As the name suggest, the celebration also honor the goddess Elisia, goddess of love. The tradition wants young men to declare their love on that day with the goddess benediction.

Elven celebration

Elves generally dedicate their prayer to Nesiven on this day. The tradition was originally held on the first of Lothron, as Lothron tend to be dedicated to the goddess of blood and wine, but the date changed to match Elisia's Festival.   Young elves go into the forest to pick up leaf-bearing branches and flowers which they offer to their sweetheart by placing a bouquet on their windowsill. This gesture is called esmaying   Sometimes esmaying can be used to insult. dead flowers of leafless branches mean a lack of virtue. Others tie eggshells, detritus or even insulting words to those branches.
