Circle of Spore

Druids of the Circle of Spores find beauty in decay. They see within mold and other fungi the ability to transform lifeless material into abundant, albeit somewhat strange, life. These druids believe that life and death are parts of a grand cycle, with one leading to the other and then back again. Death isn’t the end of life, but instead a change of state that sees life shift into a new form. Druids of this circle have a complex relationship with the undead. Unlike most other druids, they see nothing inherently wrong with undeath, which they consider to be a companion to life and death. But these druids believe that the natural cycle is healthiest when each segment of it is vibrant and changing. Undead that seek to replace all life with undeath, or that try to avoid passing to a final rest, violate the cycle and must be thwarted.

Relationships

The Fungal Order, a demonic cult, worship Tal Iss, a demonlord whose domain include, among other things, fungi, spore and the spreading of those. Due to this shared aooreciation for what can grow on the dead, the circle of spore generally stick to neutral relation with the fungal order.

Perks

Members of the circle of Spores gain the following benefits:

Equipment. Each member of your party has a druidic focus, even if it isn’t needed for spellcasting.
Proficiencies. Each member of your party gains proficiency in the Nature skill, if the character doesn’t already have it.

History

This druidic circle was created after the Great Extinction, some druid surviving this cataclysm trying to make sense of a catastrophe that would end most life. Some of those druids, fascinated by the beauty of what could grow on the dead, gathered and started to form the circle of spore. However, those druids are rare, and often disagreed as some kind of mad and delusional people, their fascination for fungo, spores, and those organisms striving on the dead giving them bad publicity. Especially with the Fungal Order, a demonic cult, sharing similar belief.
