Ekos Rivindor

Appearance and Background

Ekos Rivindor is a figure of both scholarly grace and mystical charm. Famous for his eccentric dress of indigo and sapphire robes, his sharp silvery eyes reflected the wisdom of a thousand lifetimes with long leaden hair cascading down his back. He was a prominent figure among the Timekeepers, known and respected for his exceptional knowledge of the universe and Illadrian history. As Illadrias chief historian he held a vital role in preserving and understanding the development of Illadria, unlocking secrets of the universe. Later, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Timekeepers' military offshoot, solidifying their commitment to safeguarding their home world.
While a prominent public figure, Ekos led a mysterious life, living far beyond the standard half-century lifespan of an Illadrian. This was due in part to his possession of the legendary weapon, Destiny's Bane which grants its wielder a greatly decelerated aging process.

History

Second Era

During Illadrias second era Ekos was one of the key founders of the Timekeepers organisation. Already a renowned academic and scholar he played a pivotal role in establishing the order's principles and purpose to preserve Illadrias history. With the discovery of the Veiled Realm, his thirst for understanding the arcane intensified leading him to spearhead research into paranormal relics and phenomena and ultimately the creation of powerful objects including Destiny's Bane.

Third and Fourth Era

As the Timekeepers evolved and its reputation flourished, Ekos's expertise proved indispensable, contributing to the order's growing technological marvels and augmenting Illadrias already extensive space travel through the introduction of highly efficient and useful gadgetry.

Fifth and Sixth Era

The Battle of Iknothep marked a key turning point for the ideals of Ekos Rivindor. Witnessing the potential incursion of creatures beyond imagining into our universe, Ekos realised the potential dangers of investigating the arcane and other dimensions. This infused a profound sense of responsibility with him dedicating the organisation to defensive technologies to safeguard the orders archives and Illadria from threats and eventually lead to him establishing the Timekeepers special defensive unit, separate from the Illadrian military sworn to protect critical assets to ensure Illadrian prosperity. It was following a sense of completion of his great journeys work, Ekos gave up his dagger to the Timekeepers archives, and after several decades left Illadria, presumedly to pass away in peace.

His contributions to the Timekeepers organisation undeniably left a lasting mark on Illadrian history and understanding of the arcane. His wisdom, foresight and dedication to the cause were unparalleled earning him a place among the most revered figures in Illadrian lore.
