Destiny's Bane

Overview

Destiny's Bane is an ancient dagger of unparalleled craftsmanship and power believed to have been forced in the early days of the Second Era by the founding members of the Timekeepers, combining their acquired knowledge of arcane relics and metallurgy. Kept secure in vaults deep beneath Helionus Crystora it is bestowed upon agents who demonstrate extraordinary prowess and dedication to the protection of Illadrias ideals and history. Up to the present day it is the only weapon within the Timekeepers' arsenal to have yielded but a single holder, Ekos Rivindor .

Description

The weapon is crafted from otherworldly metal glowing with a soft ethereal whitish-blue light when held. Intricate arcane symbols line the blade on one side with the other being engraved with an ancient Illadrian inscription outlining the core principles of a Timekeeper.   Remembrance of the past, perseverance in the present, and protection of the future.   The hilt is adorned with a sapphire-encrusted set of three hourglasses, arranged in a triangle that constantly feed into each other, swirling amidst a mesmerising glow of temporal energy.

Historic Abilities

Destiny's Blade possesses three incredible abilities when wielded by a skilled timekeeper, at which point the dagger becomes an extension of their will, capable of cutting through the fabric of time and altering even destiny's course:
  1. Shear of fare - Any foe who is cut by the blade finds themselves irrevocably severed from their current temporal projection and forced down another path in life. Literally changing their destiny. For this reason the blade is safeguarded for the damage that could be wrought by its misuse or accidental use is immeasurable.
  2. Temporal Recall - The sword absorbs ambient energies as it travels through time, the wielder can invoke a temporal recall by touching the blade to an item or person, allowing them to relive moments from that object or persons past.
  3. Time Preservation - The owner of the blade ages significantly more slowly then their counterparts. Though the exact extent of this is unknown it allows the wielder to serve the Timekeepers potentially for centuries accumulating significant knowledge and experience to best serve the Illadria
