It now proudly serves as the beating heart of Illadria, embodying the spirit of Illadrias progress, invention and innovation that defines their civilisation.

The city hosts a diverse population of Illadrians standing 12 million residents strong, encompassing some of Illadrias most brilliant minds and visionaries. Most of the cities major residents are renowned for their contributions to the remarkable advancements in research and technology which impacts not only Illadria but any race within the wider galactic network. The residents of Helionus Crystora embody the spirit of innovation and intellectual curiosity thanks to Illadrias adaptive and thorough education system. From the Academy itself down to the quietest streets, visitors often observe a palpable sense of intellectual engagement and shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge.

Government

Illadrias central government takes the form of a council of representatives from various sectors of society, they operate on a means of democratic governance with a focus on consensus-based decisions that best serve the Illadrian interests. All meetings are held in the cities central spire containing the main Council Chambers which, on occasion acts as a hosting place for the larger galactic council where representatives from multiple races gather to debate and discuss matters with broader significance, shaping policies and addressing issues that affect the entire galaxy.

Infrastructure & Power

Helionus Crystora has a well-developed and highly efficient infrastructure based around advanced transportation systems. Among these systems are the array of shuttles, walkways and a portal-based nexus network providing swift or instantaneous travel around the city. At the core of this infrastructure lies the cities central Aetheric Distributor, a vital hub that helps manage the city's energy distribution through an extensive system of Aetheric Conduits which orchestrate the cities energy distribution network allowing for optimal utilization.
One of Helionus Crystora's more remarkable features is that each building within the city incorporates highly efficient Aetheric Crystals. While a large number of these crystals are homed within the main Aetheric Distributor these gems, commonly nicknamed "Star Gems" serve as a renewable energy source which can store and harness energy from natural light and radiation from stars which can be re-purposed into usable energy. The energy harnessing ability of these gems even extends to the nightly glow of Illadrias twin moons. Although currency no longer holds the same significance to Illadrian society, it remains a vital aspect of trade and commerce with other races who choose to carry out their trades within Helionus Crystora. Recognising this need, the cities robust mercantile exchange ensures fair and equitable exchanges of goods.

Architecture

Illadrias architecture can be described as grand and imposing to outsiders. Buildings are generally constructed from a mixture of marble, stone, metallic alloys, and glass embellished with copper and brass that reflect the society’s early development of clockwork-based machinery of which much of their technology still relies. Thanks to their aesthetic qualities, Aetheric crystals form part of standard Illadrian architecture, their blue hue providing a natural light source at night, and their integration into every building acts well as decorative embellishments.
