Description
Hanging at the periphery of our world, the Veiled Realm (also called the mist planes or the veil) is as tangible as it is ethereal. Early within Illadrias second era the Veiled Realm was discovered quite by chance and through study, found to be a mirror image of our own world containing the life essences of every living thing. Further research left many disappointed as while the dimension mirrors our own with ghostly representations of their real world counterparts there is almost no harvestable or profitable uses of the realm for nothing is interactable.
Veiled Resources
Despite the lacklustre nature of the Veiled Realm it is not completely without utility. Should an individual die or be declared dead within our realm, for as long as their soul is still visibly present within the Veiled Realm, that individual could still be saved. Only when a persons soul is no longer detectable has the individual perished entirely. Research has determined souls do not fade or completely dissipate and their energy is transferred to a as of yet unknown destination.
The one material resource harvestable from the veil is The Silver Haar. As souls depart the veiled realm for the last time, they leave behind a varying amount of tangible ethereal residue, silver haar, which is the only substance throughout the entire realm that can be harvested. Bringing the essence back to our world showed no change in its consistency and while limited, the essence was found to have a few valuable uses. Most notably siver haar, when incorporated into molten metals mainly alloys of copper, though most metals will work, imbues the metal a range of new properties in many cases increasing metals conductivity substantially.
