Lotus

The scariest thing about Lotus isn't the way it dulls your sense, poisons your magic or lowers your inhibitions... the scariest thing is the way that crushing those leaves will rob you of your ambition for days... it sends you to paradise for a moment only to force you to return to the abyss when you wake up from the effect.

Lotus, as a first point, is not a leaf... though many describe it as such. No, Lotus is a rare fungus that grows on crystal shards found in the Anotheros Peaks and underground.
The fungus ejects a pungent gas when it is crushed (flattened to the point the blue and purple mushroom shapes resemble a coloured lotus leaf), this gas carries hallucinatory effects when crushed and inhaled as well as acting as a heavy depressant.
Currently, Lotus Dens are prevalent (and legal) throughout Anotheros, with many artists and inventors claiming they use it for 'inspiration'.
It has also begun to appear in Paradosia, specifically in the capital Carivel where, despite being illegal, Lotus Dense have started to spring up across the underbelly of the capital.
