Selling their souls for a profit... funny how a country so rich can make their people so, so desperate.

The Paradosian Armsbearers are the main military force in Paradosia who have notably been made to make an oath to King Gregor Viltis to be loyal servants to the Paradosian empire. This oath is unique as it allows the Armsbearers to be empowered by The Viltis Glaive and filled with it's endless magic and power. This changes the very nature of their Soul Arms and turns them into a golden blade that matches the Viltis Glaive... though far less impressive in design and clearly a copy of it. 
The Armsbearers are, from that point onward, given a free 'clean slate' by Paradosia and so it has led many families from 'bad stock' to have their soul arms redesigned or it has led to many criminal types to seek their second chance with the Armsbearers. 
However, there have also been accusations that the Armsbearers are in a type of indentured servitude to the King of Paradosia due to the fact that those who are found to be lacking in loyalty, have their powers revoked and this leaves them permanently without a Soul Arm as their changed weapon is destroyed and absorbed by the Viltis Glaive.
