Griffin Camp
North of Lady Quellen’s home is a large green where the Griffins Talon have set up camp for just over a 100 men. There they have set up a training center and parade ground.
The Griffins Talon is commanded by Captain Zeom Veth, an older gent with a fair sense of honor and comes from a proud line of military men, going back to before the Thay Wars. His second in command is Lieutenant Juban Kelersk, a sly underhanded adviser who’s more comfortable fighting on a policial front than a battle frontline. Juban has a few Sergeant’s he uses for his “private” tasks, all selected for their cruelty and moral flexibility, the worst of whom is Sergeant Uckum Holysky. Uckum is distinctive due to his bald scarred head and eye patch and horrible temperament.
Captain Zeom Veth has an honest intention to keep the lands safe from a Thayan threat and would never forcefully take over an allies lands unless outright war gave him no other choice. Caption Veth believes that Lady Quellen has welcomed him and his men and he thanks her for her cooperation.
Lieutenant Juban Kelersk has awkastraded this whole event. After receiving word that a Thayan party traveling south, wanted to find allies in the south in order to gain access to the surrounding areas, and were willing to pay with hundreds of slaves (a practice which is strictly outlawed under the Lord’s Council) Juban couldn’t resist the thought of having hundreds under his control. Using his local band of men he set about acquiring a Doppelganger into his service and went about meeting with Lady Quellen. The meeting went as the Lady’s reputation would suggest but the Sergeant was prepared and set about capturing the Lady in her own house and replacing her with this Doppelganger
