Thrae

Thrae is a supercontinent that gives its name to the world it is found on. The massive expanse of land stretches from the equator in the western hemisphere across the north polar region and down to as far as 30-degrees north latitude in the eastern hemisphere. The continent holds more than 42 million square miles of land, more than twice the size of Eurasia and very nearly as large as Pangea.

Given its nearly unimaginable size, Thrae contains geography and ecosystems of nearly every conceivable type. Dense and humid jungles in the south, temperate coastal rainforests, vast and mighty mountain ranges, seemingly endless arid deserts and glaciers that extend as far as the eye can see. While proportionally massive when compared to the world's other large continents, Thrae is largely uninhabited due to massive desertification. Literally millions of square miles of the supercontinent are completely baren of intelligent life due to either burning dry deserts or wind-swept glaciers soaring miles into the sky. Fully 40% of the continent is empty desert of one type or another, with verdant life being found primarily along the coasts and major riverways.

Geography

The supercontinent of Thrae stretches from the equator in the western hemisphere over the north polar region and down into the eastern hemisphere as far as 30-degree north. The western half of the continent is so massive as to contain nearly every conceivable ecosystem imaginable. Deep, humid jungles in the far south, wet temperate rainforests in the far west, vast fertile plains in the east and a seemingly endless arid desert stretching across its center. Much of this half of the continent is utterly unexplored, even though it is this half of the continent that has had intelligent civilization the longest, with some records dating back more than 5,000 years.

Across the north pole is the eastern half of Thrae, which can be best described as two large peninsulas extending south from the polar regions and into the warmer waters of the eastern hemisphere's vast oceans.
