Cobberwood

Properties
Material Characteristics
It is a dense and beautiful wood of a dark reddish-brown color. The cobber tree grows very tall, up to 100 meters (over 300 feet). Although it takes more effort than other trees to fell, it can be worked better when freshly cut. When the wood dries, it becomes almost as hard and resilient as iron, but without the drawback of rust.
Physical & Chemical Properties
It is very strong, comparable to Earth iron and resistant to weather. As a lumber, it doesn't burn very well, so it is not used for fuel. However, its reddish bark can be shredded into finer strips can can be burned and used for basketry.
History & Usage

mostly in construction, particularly buildings, bridges, or other large structures requiring great strength
Byproducts & Sideproducts
The reddish bark of the cobber tree can be shredded into finer strips that can be burned but is more often used for basketry, roofing or other industries requiring its fibers.
Reusability & Recycling
Because if its hardness after drying/curing, its poor qualities as a fuel, and its high resistance to water and decomposition, damaged and unusable cobber wood is not very useful. It takes a long time to decompose.
