askiy
The planet askiy* is an Earth-like world located in one of the countless galaxies of Universe #315, meaning that travelers of the Multiverse can expect the laws of physics are compatible with the laws of magic.
It is a beautiful and lush planet, much like Earth once was before some of its inhabitants created an industrial revolution. The vast majority of its flora and fauna are so similar to that of Earth that if any being originally from that planet were to find themselves suddenly transported here, they would scarcely know it except that their smart phone would not register even one bar of 3G.
Relationship to the Multiverse
Much like Earth in Universe #314, askiy is largely ignored and insignificant to the movers and shakers of the Multiverse. meta storyAt the time of this writing, Horatio Q. Booper-Snoot and his crew haven't visited this planet yet, but STEVE! and Augusta Constantine would probably find it rather pleasant. Maybe Biin Hejj too, but he tends to find a lot of places, people and things are pleasant.
Geography
askiy can be considered a temperate planet at a distance from its G0 star where water is common. Much like pre-industrial Earth, it is in the midst of an Ice Age (i.e. its poles have ice caps). It has a breathable atmosphere composed of mostly nitrogen and oxygen along with less carbon dioxide, water vapor, argon, and other gasses.
It is composed of six major continents, which make up roughly 30% of its surface, and major oceans. Its weather system is also comparable.
One difference is that askiy is orbited by two moons. The first is a rather large, rocky, and barren moon almost like the of the Moon known to Earthlings, which likewise affects the planet's tidal patterns and forms a basis for many kinds of calendars. The second is a small asteroid captured some time in askiy's past. It orbits just slightly outside of geosynchronous orbit, so from the planet's surface, it appears to move very slowly across the sky.
Fauna & Flora
askiy has flora and fauna that appears incredibly familiar to what one might find on Earth. This is perhaps due to the quasi-magical properties of Universe #315 and the influences of the creator(s) of this world.
One can expect everything from mosses and lichens to insects and starfish to horses and humans to whales and wholly mammoths (the megafauna of askiy has remained largely intact). The forces of evolution are identical, even if the origin of these species may not be.
That being said, there are additional creatures of note that are not found on the Earth of Universe #314.
Natural Resources
Similar to Earth, the resources of askiy are basic elements, from gold and granite to wood and water. There are a few unique minerals with certain qualities, however.
