The Travels of Malak Al-Beyoun Al-Delekta

Solo game

Checking on the Coriolis Discord, I read that the publishers are OK with players recreating tables, figures and data from the RPG source material where the only purpose is the facilitation of playing their game and I hereby promise this is my only intent with this article. The rules foundation for this solo game are those of the Coriolis RPG; the 1001 Nights rules variant I apply are my own design - Doctor Weather
The pilgrim Malak Al-Beyoun Al-Delekta is searching for a new great truth of the Horizon, one he can reveal to the people, and this is his journey.
I want to try solo gaming and am going to write my game as I go here. My aims are:
  • To learn about solo gaming - I've never tried it before and want to try it
  • To run a game that lets me explore the Horizon - I find it difficult to sit down and just read through all the background material without a purpose, so now I have one: I'll read about the places that Malak travels to and learn as I go
Game notes:   On setting the game a few years before the main campaign
I'm setting this game in CC53 to avoid the problem of whether or not to get involved in the Mercy of the Icons campaign. I'd really rather the first campaign for Coriolis had explored the Horizon as it is rather than immediately altering it to its core. It always struck me as such a wondrous setting with a myriad of possibilities for adventure and I want to play with them before I even consider a complete setting reset and in my own games of course, I can.
