Malak Al-Beyoun Al-Delekta

Solo-gaming character

Checking on the Coriolis Discord, I read that the publishers are OK with players recreating tables, figures and data from the RPG source material where the only purpose is the facilitation of playing their game and I hereby promise this is my only intent with this article. The rules foundation for this character are from the Coriolis RPG; the character and 1001 Nights rules variant he is made with are my own design - Doctor Weather
Malak is looking for purpose and has decided to complete the Pilgrimage on his first step to finding it. He may yet also journey to Lotus, the Temple city, as well and has put his studies at universities on Coriolis on hold for the time being to become a pilgrim.

Malak is a younger son of the Beyoun family, so far down the inheritance that he has always been somewhat more free to pursue his own destiny. Equally a curse as a blessing, though this has allowed him to attend university on Coriolis station it has meant he has struggled to find a course to which he feels truly suited; he has attended various semesters of many schools but as yet, completed no courses.   JUMP TO CONTENTS

In later years, Malak has sought guidance from his religion and even studied the holy scriptures looking for meaning. Through this he has come to feel that the reason he hasn't been able to settle into a particular field of study is that the truly important information in life has still to be discovered and so cannot yet be a course for study. In his youthful arrogance, he has come to believe that this 'real truth' is his to find and bring to the Horizon.   Malak has an honest interest in people and the Horizon but finds it hard to concentrate on any particular field of inquiry. If he ever does find a clue to a great new truth his greatest challenge will be in staying the course to uncover it.   JUMP TO CONTENTS

Malak is sleight of frame but retains a wiry muscle - nothing in a contest of raw strength but still practiced in sport to make him healthier than some of his student colleagues. He has long been intrigued by the members of Ahlam's Temple, whom he views have mastered a perfect balance between phsycial and mental ability.   He retains a small, neat beard and moustache, kept to match his new kurta-over-trousers outfit that follows the latest fashion in adding a cloak. He favours bold, warm colours in his clothing.   Malak has an easy smile and thinks of everyone first as a friend. A true interest in people, he is always interested in people's manner, detail and story. His weakness is his sheltered innocence of the real ways of the Horizon and a tendency to rely on his station to solve problems for him.   JUMP TO CONTENTS
