Xalax - Class Advanced Destroyer

A military starship used by the Xalarin Council.
The Xalax - class is a relatively large, but still incredibly fast, destroyer. It is heavily armed with several different types of weapons. It is extremely advanced for a starship of its class, sporting a relatively low power antimatter annihilation reactor inspired by antimatter annihilation cores on Hyperion Federation starships. This has provided the ship with a lot of power when needed, so it can afford to have very large engines and weapons.
Overall, the Xalax - Class is powerful enough to challenge a Boson - Class Destroyer in combat. It still has the lower of either ship technologically, so a Xalax would not attempt this in reality without support.
It was designed after the requirement for a ship that can come closer to rivaling HF ships came. The XC will never advance as rapidly as the HF technologically, but this need only became more nessessary as time went on with their wars against the HF.

Power Generation

Although the ship is powered by antimatter, it can not rival those antimatter annihilation cores used by the HF as they have been using antimatter for much longer. It still has access to far more energy than most XC ships though. Although antimatter is a relatively new technology for them, they made it surprisingly reliable for such a large departure from their conventional Nullification Generators. A Nullification Generator also acts as a backup powerplant in case the antimatter annihilation powerplant fails. It is still not known wether or not their safety measures would stop the antimatter from annihilating with the walls of its container.

Propulsion

It is propelled by an antimatter thrust engine. This annihilates matter and antimatter and directs the resulting radiation rearwards, providing the ship with an immense amount of thrust for little mass.

Weapons & Armament

It is armed with 2 large, extremely high power laser cannons. The XC has managed to figure out a way to make their lasers emit an extremely large amount of radiation, without annihilating matter-antimatter particle pairs like HF photon cannons. This has enabled them to construct 2 large turrets on this destroyer that fire lasers. It also has 2 plasma cannons and 1 shell cannon for its main armament as well. It comes with several cruise missiles that are launched from VLS platforms. These are positioned on either side of the ship. It has a total of 24 missiles available.

Armor and defense

It is protected by a special type of advanced armour that makes a lot of use of magnetic monopoles bonded in a lattice - like structure. All north poles are entirely surrounded in south poles, and vice versa. These bonds are extremely strong, but relies on being placed with extreme precision which can be very difficult to achieve. This is done using large, powerful machines. This material is also not very malleable, so it must be printed in a shape that perfectly mimics the starship without its interior components or turrets.
