Tyranny - Class Advanced Battleship
Powerful battleship as used by the Cypher Dominion. Armed with fewer secondary weapons than its closest equivalent - the Hypertriton - Class Battleship of the Hyperion Federation - but has more primary weapons. It is also a bit faster, sacrificing armour strength in the process.
It is the most advanced starship the CD ever constructed. The cost of one of these is significant, but that doesnt stop the CD from trying to claim their technology is almost as advanced as that of the HF.
Power Generation
Like many starships of the CD, the Tyranny is powered by a wormhole power tether. This links the ship to an entire power plant possibly even located in a separate galaxy. This gives the ship access to a large amount of energy, possibly even more than it can realistically use. It receives photons for power and antimatter as thruster fuel. These thrusters work by annihilating said antimatter inside the chamber and directing the released radiation towards the rear. This produces a large amount of thrust for little propellant.
Weapons & Armament
The tyranny class is armed with larger quark-gluon plasma cannons similar to the HF's Annihilator Plasma Cannon. These are extremely advanced and sensitive for CD technology, and require a large amount of power to function. They also need near-constant maintenance, and even a very small interference can prevent it from operating. Shorts in the weapon circuitry have been known to form from space dust collection. This maintenance is carried out constantly by monitoring nanobots, but the weapon is by no means reliable at all. The weapon is well armoured so that enemy hits do not completely annihilate it.
The secondary weapons, while more simple, are still very advanced for the ship. These are a primitive form of photon cannon, similarly inspired by the HF. The CD was not as good at antimatter manipulation as the HF, so these photon cannons could not direct all of their radiation into the tight beam. This means that it has a significant energy loss, which heats up the weapon itself. Due to this, it can only be used stably for a short time.
