Like on most planets, the core of this world is extemely dense and has a massive quantity of useful materials such as iron. It is not hot however, as the stellar parent is a neutron star which emits little light. This core is hotter than one would expect for a planet orbiting a neutron star however, as a small quantity of heat is brought to it via the hydrogen gas of the nebula that moves towards the neutron star causes heat on the surface.
Despite the inactivity of the core, it is an extremely valuable deposit of material, richer than most planet cores. It even contains a small amount of magnetic monopoles, but currently only the Hyperion Federation is aware of the monopoles. They have been made aware through the use of scouting drones performing deep scans of the planet (they scan every planet they come across, they have a lot of drones). The HF keeps this secret as they dont want other factions to find out and potentially use the system against them (the Xalarin Council is one of the closest factions). The primary reason this system is unclaimed is because it is very far from every faction, in a galaxy that is virtually overlooked so the logistical costs of sustaining the system are larger than the potential profit of exploiting it.
It is still currently unknown how magnetic monopoles have formed in the core of this planet. It could be a rogue world that was ejected from a star that underwent supernova, or perhaps it is one of the very few worlds to have been created with monopoles that originated from the big bang?
