Calculus - Class Carrier

A space carrier constructed and used by the Karnol Caretakers.
The ship is Caretaker designed and operated. Outside of a war, Gagarags are sometimes allowed on as museum ships but they primarily serve as a warship. They are never allowed on during wartime to keep them safe.
The Calculus class is mostly designed for launching space fighters. It can also help logistical efforts during war, as it has a large amount of internal room. They can sometimes be seen refueling or rearming friendly ships. The sheer size of these vessels mean they are sometimes put on command duty to oversee large numbers of military forces simultaneously. They are also armed with a small number of turreted weapons, but relies primarily on escorts and fighters for self defence so these weapons are usually not used. It can also support a fleet with long range anti ship missiles too, which are used much more often than the turrets. Additionally, it has an electronic warfare package able to detect Subspatial Starships and protect the fleet from enemy jamming.
They also designed it to be relatively fast, another form of its protection. However this partly means that it is relatively slow to change orbits with a small acceleration for a KC ship. The Calculus class serves much better as a support ship and needs to be escorted at all times.
It also has a special Jump Drive designed for jumping longer ranges, but with a larger 'probability bubble'. This increases the area that the ship could potentially be found in after a jump, but this matters less for a carrier because of the massive range of strikecraft.
