The Grand Coalition
Founded in the year 2052 after The Second Cascade and the fall of many great governments, the Grand Coalition was formed from the remaining countries by the 5 lords to make Thera more safe for everyone. The kingdoms under the coalition brought together their greatest minds to build infrastructure for the people, creating an age of new technology. Now the coalition is a flourishing zone of progress, where all manner of creatures are treated equally, and technology gives everyone an equal chance.
Structure
The decisions that are imposed by the Grand Coalition are made by the Council of 5. In the council of 5 a new lord is voted into power when one lord dies, or when a majority of the lords choose to "remove" a lord. The decisions made are then sent out to the separate countries underneath the Grand Coalition and enforced by every cities' guard. Underneath the council are the 3 organizations, The Grand Guard, the Eldritch Containment Association, and the Monster Cleanup Agency, all of whom support the wellfare of the kingdom.
Public Agenda
The purpose of the Grand Coalition is to unify the people of the world, protect it's citizens, and repair the veil.
History
Creation
After The Second Cascade and the fall of The Elven Coalition Thera was sent into chaos. New corrupted monsters destroyed cities, Elves immigrated in mass with nowhere else to go, and the world's dragons slowly got killed off one by one. One day in a tavern in Cherton, 5 adventurers met for a quest to simply eradicate a nest of smaller horrors. These adventurers took it upon themselves to solve the problems of the world one by one, taking quests to save as many people as possible. After 10 years of saving people and taking quests these adventurers became known as the 5 lords, protectors of Thera. One day, in the year 2052 a member of the 5 lords, Edward Reyword, proposed to the rest of the group that the best way to protect Thera would be to unify the people into, and create one unified government for the people. Leveraging owed favors, their position, and ins they have with existing governments, they formed the first council of 5, creating the Grand Coalition.Unification
In the infancy of the Grand Coalition there were many problems trying to unify all the peoples of the world. Goblins were often seen as lesser in the bigger towns and discouraged from integrating into the new culture. The High Elves from the elven coalition also joined in by controlling whole towns making sure wood elves could never have more power than they did. This led to the first set of anti-discrimination laws passed by the council of 5. In response to this a certain group of the most hateful high elves formed the terrorist organization, the Brotherhood of Afidorei. It took some time for the communities to finally integrate with each other and some prejudice was always there.Protection
In the year of the creation of the Grand Coalition, Bob, Antonia, and Blizz all got together to decide how they would protect the newborn country. Bob created and formed The Grand Guard in order to protect the nations from any outside armies, and certain criminals. Antonia formed the Eldritch Containment Association to get rid of the eldritch creatures piercing the veil, sending small towns into chaos. They also have a second agenda of finding ways to repair the veil. Blizz formed the Monster Cleanup Agency to get rid of the smaller creatures that plagued the cities, and make sure the larger ones would never enter. These three organizations dealt with most of the problems for a while until there was a problem with the Cult of Allbazarr almost tearing a hole in the veil causing another reality cascade. In response, the Cult Suppression Force was added to The Grand Guard and has been working hard mandating cult activities.Protect, Serve, Repair, Unify.
