The Elven Coalition
The elven coalition was the greatest empire to ever exist according to the remaining nobles of the empire. It's purpose was to consolidate the power of the most powerful magic users and protect their assets. For a millennium it stood above the rest of the world. Now that it's fallen the only time it's spoken of is by High Elves who long for the days when they ruled at the top.
Creation
In the young days of the world the only beings able to control the mana and cast spells were the elves. In the year 999 the greatest and most powerful elf mages got together to form the elven coalition, convincing or extorting elven kings and queens one by one to join the coalition. When the topic of where the capital should be came up the answer was obvious. Afidorei was already the center of the elven world and considered advanced even for the elves. The descendants of the elven royalty and nobles became known as High Elves, given special privileges under the empire. During the spread of the coalition some elves rebelled but in the end the were overpowered by the military of the coalition.Destruction
After the Workers' Revolution in Afidorei, the whole city and those surrounding succumbed to eldritch corruption becoming known as Area Zero. During The Second Cascade the leaders of the coalition went missing and the biggest mana factories became zones of intense mana shaping the terrane around it, sending the kingdoms of the elven coalition into disarray. The final nail in the coffin was when the Wood Elves and other species under the rule weld powerful magic and rebelled against the high elves.Facere Mundum Nostrum
