Workers' Revolution

Work Life in the Afidorei mana factory has a 50% percent mortality rate due to the almost constant instability of the veil core. After the loss of his son to the factory, Valen Baylet, a wood elf, started the revolt with a workers' strike outside the factory demanding better working conditions and higher pay. In response the owner of the factory, Taranth Bourgeois , brought the guards to cast magics on the workers to convince them to work, those who did not comply, or resisted the spell were taken to an additional location and never heard of again. Baylet managed to escape without being caught and made it to Thalfor, the neighboring town. Thalfor is a wood elf dominated town, most of whom are very attentive to workers' rights. When word got out of the handling of this strike, a week afterwards, hundreds of workers marched into the city of Afidorei led by Baylet. The guards, still cleaning the mess from the strike, were caught off guard and sent into disarray. However when the special forces came into the scene they cast powerful spells to "disperse" the march of workers. Baylet managed to sneak away from carnage going on in the streets making it to the Afidorei mana factory. Making his way down to the veil core, attacking it in a rage causing it to collapse, tearing a sizeable hole into the veil. From within the veil, an old one emerged destroying the factory with the people inside. The chaos that ensued thinned the veil even greater allowing for the great one to escape the Aether. The guards and special forces turned there attention to the being ascending from the factory, just the sight sent half the forces into insanity, and more ran in fear. Those who remained did their best to destroy the being, managing to topple it over but the veil became so thin it caused a reality cascade, known as The Second Cascade.
