Kankorarl and Taithorkey

Where is Taithorkey?

Found at the southern edge of the region cluster north of Zyrine's cluster, Taithorkey is in the northwest corner of the forests of south-central Tachamund.

Taithorkey is also west of Kolin and Rhakocha, north of Lauvera and Denxalue, east of Ayadaro Forest, and south of Enderenuskeld and Tanoriz. Rhakocha and Denxalue are sometimes considered part of a 'Greater Taithorkey' nation, but they are theomes of their own with land gods of their own.

How is Taithorkey classified?

Negotiable. Felling trees in Taithorkey is generally forbidden, and the land god does not like seeing signs of overpopulation in the theome. Treehouses are obligatory while canopy communities are expected. People who live in Taithorkey tend to shrink and grow more lightweight over the years. The dragons of Taithorkey are small, agile dragons, and it can be difficult to reverse this if one wasn't sure about wanting it.

What kind of population and economy does Taithorkey have?

Taithorkey's economy is notably primitive. They export wood despite the restraint on treefelling, since they live in a guided wilderness which is supposed to produce massive trees that can be built on, but their lumberjacks are restrained in productivity by fearful mysticism. The people of Taithorkey do quite a bit of hunting and gathering even though most theomes are beyond that. Tools and goods produced from Taithorkey have the same excellence produced by prolonged experience that is common throughout Theoma, but they are typically tools produced of inferior materials and goods produced by tools of inferior materials. Ugly quarrying and mining work is done elsewhere, and metal or stone are found in Taithorkey only as a result of importing.

Taithorkey's population is very low-density as a result of its fixation on living in trees. However, they are known for being very friendly to visitors. Kankorarl protects lesser divinities who love the biome as he does, and tries to create a welcoming culture that can convince new people to live in the same kind of conditions.

It's difficult to get rich in Taithorkey. The land god is friendly to prosperity, but the restrictions on the theome's economy are hard to work around.

Mentioned Places in Taithorkey:

  • Relaith: A village in northern Taithorkey with finely constructed buildings and a prosperous market near its caravanserai.

What is Kankorarl like?

An exuberant (albeit tiny) Vashael, that's what Kankorarl incarnates as. He is a dragon who loves trees. He absolutely loves trees. He wants to preserve a particular kind of community across a great stretch of inhabited forest. It is very important to Kankorarl that the forest be both inhabited and yet sustainably managed, and so Kankorarl works with people in Taithorkey to establish a kind of weightless forest-safe architecture.
