Chotain and Sybanisk

Where is Sybanisk?

Just past Tirrtian Pass, Sybanisk is arguably also part of 'the pass' as it is the next theome stepped into by people who are taking the route through Tirrtian Pass to the north. The Tachanigh-Kelkaith continues on to the north with Izaeyaranth.

How is Sybanisk classified?

Benevolent. The weather can be inconvenient, but it is relatively harmless.

What kind of economy and population does Sybanisk have?

The trade roads here open up in all directions from Tirrtian Pass, and several small trade outposts dedicated to distant destinations exist near the edges of the theome, plus one near the crossroads at the center. There's a substantial presence of art and education in Sybanisk as well, so that each of these trade outposts has a minor hall of knowledge dedicated to the most notable theome on its long-distance trade route. At the crossroads, instead of a minor hall of knowledge, there is instead a large temple dedicated to Gruent and Jiasote, maintained by grateful emigres from that theome who once needed its healing power, and who now sing the praises of Gruent as a great healer.

Additionally to trade infrastructure, Sybanisk also has a community clustered up to a 'Snowmelt Museum', similar to the Museum of Ice in Cortacaffakallyenay & Nyberinz, and like with the Museum of Ice Chotain maintains the Snowmelt Museum to offer people a glimpse into how weather is made on Theoma.

There is a small gathering economy from Chotain's endless manipulations of false springtimes. The land god is effectively growing and regrowing the early plants of spring, and people have accordingly put some effort into figuring out how to use these locally abundant resources.

What is Chotain like?

Chotain has trapped Sybanisk in an endless procession of magically accelerated springtimes. The weather here is forever too warm to be winter and/or too cold to be spring. There's no autumn and no summer, but snow falls in a cold open land and melts in a warm open land. The flowers here grow at the will of the land god who forever studies the first of spring in wintry lands. As a result of thisk, Sybanisk is an oasis in the deep winter, but an oppression in the summer.

Chotain incarnates as a Vashael with scales in the colors of hyacinth.

What is the Fate Beacon that Chotain maintains over Sybanisk?

The local Snowmelt Beacon exports Chotain's studies of wintry springtimes to other theomes across the northern half of Theoma for implementing in temperate theomes. Chotain's occasional lectures on the weather sometimes attract windmages from very distant theomes courtesy of Sybanisk's position on a major trade route!
