Champions of Light

This is the occult group dedicated to the Ynue Killian, they are outlawed in most of the world, but they are often tolerated for their ability to heal people, and cure certain dark afflictions that might otherwise be fatal. They are a nomadic organization that travels in covens, made up of a chief, a combat force that may have various ranks, and some dedicated support or servants, although many warriors double as healers.

Purpose

The crosses, as they are called, were founded with the intent to rid the world of all those Killian deems impure, namely vampires. But this purpose grew to include werewolves and other foul beasts, but it didn't stop there, because, in the absence of such things, the crosses are content with cleansing the world of anything even remotely associated with darkness.

Healing

While they were initially founded as a militant order, they quickly found a need to have skilled healing and support as well, which is why they are now also known for their medical knowledge, as they will share this with the needy, in exchange for a modest donation to their cause, which may be in the form of coin, or even food or livestock, as the crosses will take anything they can get.

Public Perception

The way they are perceived by the public depends on their situation, anyone dying of typhus is eager to be healed, even by someone who has sold their soul to a dark god, and anyone will be grateful of the group that cleared out a band of vampires, or the werewolf, but it is when yet another person is burned alive for something others may consider to be a minor thing, that they are chased off, they may even be hanged for the crime if they are caught.

Leadership

The order is divided into many covens, each of which has a chief, there are also higher ranking chiefs, who have the authority to tell other chiefs what to do, which are called Commander-Chiefs, the highest rank in the order is that of General-Chief, who does not have their own coven, instead traveling with a contingent of the most faithful, and goes whever they are welcome, their purpose is more to give aid and instructions to the traveling covens.

Ranks

There are many ranks within the order, both among warriors and among officers, this rank signifies level of enlightenment, and closeness to Killian. Killian has a big part in deciding who gets to progress to the next rank, and most people stagnate halfway through the base ranks, and the officer ranks are only for the rare few who satisfy her strict requirements.
Initiate
Before getting a rank, one has to be accepted into the order, before that happens, new recruits will be referred to as Initiates.
Warriors and Support Staff
These ranks may belong to any non-officer personnel.

Knife	This is the lowest rank in the order, they have been accepted, but have yet to prove themselves.
Dagger	These individuals have taken their first steps towards the lady of light, and have been rewarded for it.
Blade	The ones who have proven themselves clean, and ready for the next steps.
Spear	When their virtues prove strong, they are granted this title, this is already considered prestigious amongst warriors.
Staff	Staff is the highest non-officer rank, they have rid themselves of all major afflictions, and they have proven themselves ready for the next step.

Officers
Officers are those who have fully proven themselves to the lady of light, and now they climb the ladder of power, this is also when Killian starts to grant real powers, and officers are much more powerful than regular members.

Lieutenant	The lowest Officer rank signifies the true acceptance into Killian's inner circle.
Major	Those who have taken their first steps to the light are acknowledged with this rank.
Colonel	Those who have proven themselves to be dedicated and loyal to the Cross.
Chief	This rank is granted when there is an open position, it always goes to a Colonel of the coven where the previous chief ruled.
Commander-Chief	Those of the chiefs who have proven themselves the most capable, and most willing to do whatever it takes, to bring light to the world, and rid it of darkness, wherever it may hide.
General-Chief	The one person closest to Killian, along with her champion, this person is chosen when the position becomes available, from the commander-chiefs, this is the leader of the entire order, and now takes a much more important rule upon themselves, that of leadership, and large scale planning.

Champion

When Killian discovers a most unique individual, whom she chooses as her personal representation in the world, this person is proclaimed her champion, this person has a special rank in the order, on the same level as even the General-Chief, and sometimes even higher. There isn't always a champion, and when one is chosen it means big things to come for the order, because champions will often require the whole might of Killians following to wage war against filth and corruption.  This often means going after larger vampire communities, or even whole cities or towns that Killian has decided need cleansing.
This also means war with the nation they belong to, which is why many world rulers have been responsible for assassinating such champions as soon as they found out about them, because the kingdoms already suffer the Crosses enough, without them also starting full-scale insurgencies.
