Tassendar Fields (Tass-Enn-Dar)

The Battle of Tassendar Fields was the deciding battle in The Civil War of Tillain. It pitted the forces of the Boy King, Taldaran Travinder VI, led by the Captain of the Wing Guard Tolgaine Alontar against his uncle, Mathis Travinder III, also known as the Prince of Flames.
The battle took place in a location southeast of the capital city of Tillain known as Tassendar Fields, an otherwise unremarkable bit of farmland chosen as the staging point for the battle due to its favourable terrain. Though the Boy King's forces were slightly outnumbered, particularly in their arcane abilities, they held the advantage in the air, due to the contingent of griffon-riders that served in the Wing Guard.   The battle was fiercly fought, notably including the actions of the elite force known as The Spearhead, led by Garrus Alontar, who dueled the famed warrior Casdar Brittanik during the battle. Garrus was struck down by treachery during the duel, signalling the arrival and betrayal of the forces of Styr, who set upon the Loyalist forces from behind. Near to this time, the Shield of Tillain, Tolgaine Alontar was dueling the Princes of Flames in the skies above the battle, but his griffon mount was slain and the two tumbled from the sky. The remaining Wing Guard attempted to help the Boy King escape but he too was struck down. As the Loyalist forces were routed and the Boy King dead, victory was proclaimed for the Prince of Flames.
