Teleuce
Where the Snow Falls Hard
Teleuce is the northernmost of the three major continents of the World of Many Names. It is the birthplace of the Archaian Empire and the Kingdom of Teleucia. It is called the Cradle of Civilization, as so many great civilizations originated in Teleuce. To the north of Teleuce is the Great Northern Ice Sheets, a dry expanse of ice and snow that is uninhabitable, even by the hardiest of animals and plants. Teleuce is split in two sections: western Teleuce and eastern Teleuce. Western Teleuce is where the Kingdom of Teleucia sprouted, from the River Anastasi. Even further west is the River Mausolei, along which the Mausoleum of Behemoths supposedly stands. Eastern Teleuce is where the greatest civilizations rose: the Agorean Empire, the Archaian Empire, the Grand Duchy of Dionys, and the Hestian Freehold.
Geography
Teleucia is filled with cold forests and valleys. The lands are open and filled with grasses, but also quite cold. Snowfall is common, and practically universal in the winter. Most of the animals that inhabit Teleuce have coped with this aspect of their home by wearing coats of feathers or fur, and some even disguise themselves in the snow every winter.
Fauna & Flora
Many animals and plants make their home in Teleucia. Cattle, such as Highland Cattle imported from Tharros, have taken well to the continent. Their thick coat of fur enables them to survive in the low temperatures, and even thrive beyond the native organisms, like bison, elk, and reindeer. Alternatively, trees like the Ironbirch Tree blend into their environment for defensive purposes.
Natural Resources
The most prominent natural resources of Teleuce are wood, which, like in most of the world, is quite plentiful. There are forests of trees that, although covered in snow in the winter, once the snow thaws out, it can be harvested by spring.
