Archaian Empire

The Empire of Old

"Every person should be in possession of an Archaian education, for to deny the truths that I have been taught is to deny the beauty of existence."
The Archaian Empire was one of the oldest nations in the World of Many Names, second only to the Agorean Empire. They held unquestioned authority over their nation, and, for a time lasting many centuries, prospered. Faces such as the great scientist Leonalus and the beloved Emperor Oeronas I are recognized in the Archaian Empire. The Archaian Empire formed with it's capital, Hephaest, and fell with it. After the Great Fire of Hephaest, the nation fell into revolt. In the east, the Second Agorean Empire formed, and in the south, barbarians and Hestians revolted as well. The empire even split in two, the Eternal Remnant and the true Archaian Empire. However, in 1031 AC, they, too, would fall.

Demography and Population

The Archaian Empire was constituted, in large part, of elves. This was in a time before the dominance of humans, and the elves had their hay-day when the Archaian Empire was at it's peak.

Territories

The Archaian Empire owned almost all of Eastern Teleuce, Epicure, Kelubus as far south as Hippocra, parts of northeastern Krateros, and parts of western Teleuce. Most of these territorial conquests were made during the Era of Colonialism, which fell between the 600s to the 300s BC.

Military

The Archaian military was the strongest military force to have ever stood on the ground. They brandished more weapons then could be produced by an entire work force of blacksmiths in a day, and moved across the land on a whim.

Technological Level

The Archaians had advanced as far technologically as an ancient civilization could. They had devised siege engines, triremes, and many other instruments of technology, but never advanced as far as any modern-day civilizations, like the Kingdom of Ciceronia or the Kingdom of Teleucia.

Religion

The Archaians practiced Ignisianism, and spread it with them during their conquests and subjugations. This is how the religion spread all the way to Epicure while still being seated in Mem.

Foreign Relations

The Archaians were rivals with the Agorean Empire, a nation that formed in the Agor River Valley. They had also subjugated the nations of the Grand Duchy of Dionys and the Hestian Freehold into tributaries.
