The Kingdom of France has suffered for the past hundred years under a partial occupation by the English.
Compared to the other nations of Europe, France is more advanced in many areas including medicine and education. Herbcraft and chemistry, considered forms of witchcraft in many other nations, are the purview of the goddess Magdalene and thus a divine pursuit. Thus, most any French woman who wants it can obtain safe and effective birth control.
In that same vein, France preserved many roman texts considered heretical by the rest of Europe, holding onto much Roman knowledge and technology lost elsewhere in Europe.

History

The Kingdom of France, also known as the Kingdom of the Franks, formed from the territory previously known as Gaul when the Roman empire lost control over the region. Clovis, the first King of all Franks, traced his lineage back to Gebuya la Christi, and as such claimed the title of la Christi himself.
