House de Christi
House de Christi, or the House of Christ, is the French royal dynasty. Said to be descended directly from Sarah, the eldest child of Jesus of Nazareth and Marie of Magdalene, and anointed with the same oil that was used to anoint Jesus, which was brought to Gaul by Magdalene, the House de Christi is viewed as a living continuation of the Christ Family.
In more practical terms, the House de Christi refers to the King and his immediate family - his wife and children. Any legitimate child of the king may use the designation "de la Christi" as their family name, which means "of the anointed one." Children of the king who marry into other families retain that honorific to indicate their status as a prince or princesse, but their children do not.
Jean d'Alençon's great grandmother, for example, was Joanna de la Christi, daughter of King Jean II of France. While Joanna retained her de la Christi title as a Princesse, her children did not.
It should also be noted that the King of France is not given the "de la Christi" title but a different title - "la Christi" which means "the anointed one" or "the Christ." This is because part of the ceremony to crown the King of France in Reims involves anointing the King with the same oil Marie Magdalene used to anoint Christ. Thus, like the messiah before him, the King of France is also considered a Christ. Thus the King is "the Christ" rather than "of the Christ." Most Queens are never officially crowned, and thus never anointed, and as such retain the "de la Christi" title. However, those Queens who are officially crowned in Reims are also anointed and thus also take on the "la Christi" title, effectively becoming the new Marie Magdalene just as the King becomes the new Jesus.
