The Galactic Empire

Rayth Nation

The Empire is run by the Rayth, one of the galaxy's magical factions, and the only one with its own country. They run this part of the galaxy with an iron fist, imposing their will on the people.
They have no native species. The founding species of the Rayth have long been extinct, but their legacy has carried on.

Government

The Imperial government has the same structure as the Rayth ranking system. There is one emperor, there are twelve Kings, and each king has twelve Princes under them. The Kings are each put in charge of a vital part of the imperial administration, their exact duties shift around, but the structure remains the same.
The Kings delegate their tasks to their Princes, who delegate them further.

Important planets are ruled by Princes, Marshals, and Grand Admirals, lesser planets are generally ruled by appointed governors.
Kings all live on Kryllix IV, near the emperor.

Culture

The empire is multi ethnic in nature, and cannot be said to have a certain culture, however, it is heavily influenced by its most populous species, the Grig.

The grig have long been the center of galactic civilization, and they have an arrogant, but realistic view of things.
They have conceded to Rayth rule, but they are not very pleased about it, still, they are forced to live with the way things are.

This has caused the formation of an anti-establishment type of culture, that is still careful to do all their rebelling against the system in ways that are legal, and wont get them into too much trouble.

Capital

The Rayth, when they conquered this region, chose to place their capital on the planet Kryllix IV, this is not only because it has been the capital of many nations, big and small, including previous Republics, and the predecessors of the galactic empire, and not even because it is the most populated planet in the galaxy.
It is because it sits in the perfect place to project power into the rest of the galaxy. It is close to the warp trail, and it is a trade hub that connects most of the galactic trade.
It is also close enough to the gap of Thraxis, allowing the empire to maintain control of the planet, and it is surrounded by habitable planets, which make for perfect military bases, making it one of the most defensible planets in the galaxy, a perfect capital.

The Grig

The grig may be the largest species group in the empire, but they are not in charge of the country, the Rayth are. There are many Grig Rayth, simply because they are the largest recruitment pool at the moment, but they specifically are not the ones leading the empire, the emperor is not a Grig but a type of Human.

Recruitment

The empire recruits anyone with even a small amount of magical potential into the Rayth initiate program, a tradition of theirs that they have held on to since their inception, this bolsters their numbers greatly, even though most of them do not not survive the initial selection phases.

The Rayth

Flag

The imperial flag is a red square, with the Rayth logo on it. The red is the color of the empire, as well as the Rayth. To them, it represents power, rage, and strength. The Rayth logo, a heart, sword, and wings, represent passion, conflict, and liberty respectively.

Goals

It is the goal of the empire to one day control the entire galaxy, however, at the moment, their efforts are being halted not only by the coalition against them but also by the growing void threat on their border, which has taken priority over national growth.

They are not known for their appreciation of foreign nations, but this great issue has forced them to consider alliances with other nations, something that sickens the Rayth monarchs, as allying with other nations grants them legitimacy, and it makes them feel like the Rayth tolerate their existence, and that couldn't be further from the truth.
