Kryllix IV

World of People

Kryllix 4 is the galaxies most densely populated planet, it has become such due to it always laying in the center of galactic civilization.
It is both a trade hub, and a center of culture, and currently, the capital world for the Galactic Empire.

Capital Planet

Kryllix IV has been the capital of many nations, most notably all three galactic Empires, and it was also the original capital of the Galactic Republic.
Before any of those, however, it was the home to the Kryllethi, who have since gone extinct.
Despite its native population having passed, the planet has found new inhabitants, and its population is a mix of many species, most notably, the Grig, who were the first to settle here alongside the Kryllethi, and are now the most populous of speies here, making up roughly a quarter of the planets total population.

Metropole

Most of the planet's surface has been covered in cities, it is urbanized to such an extent that there are but few wild areas left, all of which have been designated as national parks, and are protected by the planet's green society, the empire briefly attempted to urbanize or otherwise undustrialize the remaining areas, but they were met by such violent uprisings that they decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

The cities are now mosty connected to each other by hyper rail, allowing people to travel from one side of the planet to the other in just a few short hours.

Space Lifts

There are several centers of trade here, many of them start in orbit, where there are space stations where large haulers offload their goods, they then enter the planet and are resold.

There are several places where this is done, all of the on the equator.
This is because they don't use shuttles anymore here, they have constructed a large number of space lifts, which start on the surface and connect all the way up to the space stations. This allows cargo to be transported on and off world without having to launch an entire ship into space, saving a lot of time and money.

Electrical Infrastructure

The entire planet is digitized and runs on electricity, all of which is generated offworld.
They constructed a partial Dyson sphere around their star, in the form of many satellites that orbit the sun closely. These satellites have mirrors on them, which redirect the sunlight to each other, and eventually to the Kryllix 4, where all that light powers a thermal reactor strong enough to provide plenty of electricity for the whole planet.

Food

This planet doesn't produce nearly enough food to feed the whole planet, most of the food here is imported from other planets.
However, they do produce food, specifically seafood. Fishing has long since been banned here, but there are sea farms where fast-growing sea plants are grown. This is not exported, and it is all consumed locally by the lower classes because these sea greens are the cheapest food source available.

Standard Planet

Because this was the original capital of the Galactic Republic, this planet was used as the standard for the galaxy, and many units of measurement, such as atmospheric pressure, and gravity, are all based on those of this planet.

Fall of Kryllethia

The nation of the Kryllethi had been called Kryllethia, and it didn't die in blaze and glory, but only by the hands of time. As the Kryllethi people became wealthier, their culture became one of greed and capitalism. They desired for more and more, and thus, they worked themselves to death. They taught their kids that working hard was the only way to be happy in life, and so they did. This made Kryllethia a most wealthy nation at the time, but it also made their birth rates decline rapidly, and before they realised what had gone wrong, it was too late.

Their population collapsed, and was replaced by alien immigrants, who quickly replaced them. This angered the Kryllethi people, but there was nothing they could do about it, they were now a minority in their own nation, and the newer governments were all led by other species.

Their birth rates never recovered, they degraded into an impoverished people, until they eventually disappeared entirely. Some believe there are still some Kryllethi out there somewhere, that some of them escaped to another world and started over, but if this is true, they have managed to keep it a secret.
