The Treasury Department

The Treasury Department is both responsible for maintaining the minting of Markers and for collecting taxes once a year. The Secretary of the Treasury is thus rarely a popular Kindred, holding great power but also prone to accidents once the post is vacated.

The Treasury Department also holds the Census Bureau. This small office is responsible for both keeping track of the number of Kindred in the City, for giving permission to Embrace and for ensuring the newly arrived Kindred are recognized and appraised of their rights. The work of the Census Bureau is often boring, but the position of Director is also an immensely powerful one.
