Built on the biggest port the coasts of Merterra have to offer, Hothgren has grown into a vivacious city. People from all over travel to see the iconic skyline, trade in exotic goods, and experience all the city has to offer.

Hothgren is the second most populous and diverse city behind Helsia City. Members of all species call this place home.
Government

Guilds and Factions
Education
There are two official public colleges in Hothgren: the School of Humanities, and the School of Magic. These two schools provide education to citizens of Hothgren and the surrounding areas who can afford it. A lot of the city's politics revolve around the schools, as they are the second greatest source of income for the city behind shipping.Crime
Everybody knows about the crime rings in the underbelly of Hothgren, but nobody can seem to take them down. They usually stick to petty theft and pickpocketing, but on occasion, they are not above bribing a politician or two to get what they need.Cults
Like any big city, Hothgren has its fair share of underground cults. Most are fairly harmless as long as they're left alone, but some of the larger ones can be quite dangerous if not taken seriously.Architecture
The general architectural style of Hothgren is an amalgamation of styles from all the different cultures that call the city home, but the buildings run by the government (schools, library, courthouse, etc.) tend more towards an elven style of architecture.
