The World

To the naked eye, it looks like any other fantasy setting. Knights, wizards, monsters, the works. And like any world, it has its politics. Arguments over trade rights and feuding families can be found in every town, and of course, no ruler is ever completely popular. These squabbles are to be expected. But what people don't like to talk about is the recent boom in the popularity of sinister cults and other dark forces. Darkness has taken root in the land, and it is spreading like a virus. The efforts of the law and other noble adventurers have been so far successful in keeping these forces at bay, but their power is reaching an end. Evil is infecting everything and even the gods are unsure if they can stop it.
