The capital city of The Kingdom of Merterra , Helsia is the hub of the kingdom's social, political, and economic activity.

Government

Helsia is the capital city of Merterra. As such, it is not under the control of any individual province but rather rules itself as a sort of single-city province. Castle Abocath is located on the highest level of the city, and the Parliament building is in the second layer.

Industry & Trade

Though not a port city, Helsia City has a thriving trade center. Artisans of all sorts sell their goods alongside merchants with curiosities from afar. Clothes and jewelry, armor and weapons, potions and magic items, food and novelties, anything can be found here. If one knows where to look, they can even find illegal goods and magics for a reasonable price. Many sellers have individual shops, but a large bazaar is held in the streets weekly.

Geography

Helsia City is located at the foot of Mt. Tomid. Because of this, the city is built in an almost stepwise manner. The bottommost level of the city is built on the slightly sloped rocky plains at the base of the mountain, and the highest layer is almost carved out of the stone. A river fed by runoff from the mountain winds through the city.
