Belter's Blitz

Belter's Blitz is an alcoholic concoction of varying alcohol's along with a melted chunk of frozen asteroid liquid. Care is taken to ensure it's not dangerous, at least in large amounts, although small amounts of mildly toxic liquids are allowed. The chunk is analyzed by the government as part of the claim, so there is a legal registration of what the chunk consists of, but other than that, flavor and the ability to drink it varies widely. At a minimum, a one shot portion is provided to all present.

History

The history of the Belter's Blitz started in a bar, where else? Oh, and it was a dare. And it involves alcohol, usually low quality, high proof alcohol. The key ingredient is ice from an asteroid, which may or may not be mostly water, but any frozen liquid that turns to liquid at room temperature that comes direct from an asteroid will do. It may not be processed in any way.

Execution

When a new claim is staked by a belter, it is tradition that the belter buys a round at a local dive on following the registration of the claim with the Pyran government. Since claims have to be filed in person, they are already on the station. Bringing a chunk of frozen liquid from the new claim, it is presented to the bartender who will then use low quality (these are belters, they don't have gobs of credits to spend), high proof alcohol to mix up a brew along with the melted asteroid liquid. This is then served to all present in the bar when the chunk of ice is presented to the bartender, no late comers are allowed to partake (some establishments will close the doors to ensure all drink that are in the bar, but no others).
