B'laq (beh-LAHK)
The captial of Strassia, B'laq lies on the coast of the Hypokra Sea in the Vel Tura region. B'laq is ruled by the tura'strass, but counts reth'strass and um'strass amongst its population. Zoni'strass traders are allowed to visit, but the ruling family does not permitted them permanent residences.
Since its discovery, B'laq has become a popular place to visit as the gateway to Strassia. While careful not to let their land be exploited, the tura'strass have made efforts to offer visitors forms of entertainment while they stay on Strassia. In the last twenty years, the city has expanded to include several resort-style buildings and guilds offering guides for those who want to explore beyond the city.
Despite this welcoming outlook, interislian visitors are strictly monitored. The are required to register their names and purpose for visiting upon arrival at the docks, and anyone from beyond Stassia seeking to travel outside of the capital must do so with an armed strass guide.
Government
B'laq - and by extension all of Strassia - is currently ruled by the Vrak family of the tura'strass. The family matriarch oversees a council of elder family members that decides laws and protocols for the isl. The Vraks have a long history of conflict with the zoni'strass, and don't allow them to settle outside of their historical territory in the Hraden Maq.
Architecture
Like most strass settlements, B'laq consists mostly of sand-colored domed structures. strassian glass is used heavily for windows and decorations of important buildings. Clan motifs around door and window sills mark which clan a structure's residents belong to.
