"When outsiders hear the word 'strass', they think of the tura'strass. Don't ask me why. The other cultures of strass are just as vibrant and complex. Personally, I think the turas are rather overbearing."— Togmarius the Chronicler
The tura'strass is the most common strass culture, found in almost every strassian city. The current ruling family of
Strassia is tura'strass, and as a result, tura customs are more wide-spread than others. Tura'strass tend to be taller than their brethren, with darker scales from living in Strassia's jungle regions. Because their people rule
B'laq, which has exploded in growth and popularity since the arrival of outlanders, they've recently developed a superior attitude with regards to other strass, particularly zoni'strass.
DRESS CODES AND ADORNMENTS
Apart from their physical differences, tura'strass adorn themselves with jewelry, particularly along the edges of their auditory fins. The number and intircacy of their adornments is a good indicator of their status in society. Tura'strass of the ruling family also wear a chain of bronze across their chest, signifying them as a strass of high authority.
BIRTH RITES
Like all strass, eggs are collected in family nests and cared for by eggtenders until they hatch. New tura hatchlings have the tips of their auditory fins painted gold, and are given a beaded necklace that signifies which family they came from. Tura'strass teach their children that their individual parents aren't important; it's the family as a whole that matters.
RELIGION AND BELIEFS
All strass worship the Nohr, but the tura'strass focus their faith on Beske, the Cooling Shade. They believe their darker appearance was a gif from her to mark the tura as her chosen children, and they hold numerous festivals in her honor throughout each cycle. During
the Surge, tura hang heavy curtains in their windows and aoid going outside for fear that they will be burned away by Widu, the Great Light.
