Xanti: Last Chance Docks

The Last Chance Docks is always the newest Outpost on Planet: Xanti, no matter how many Outposts rise and fall. The Docks, as it's known for short, are always built on the final solid outcropping of stone along the Slush. The buildings tend to be made of a combination of wood from the Frozen Forest and are often purposefully covered in ice to help with the insulation. The final result ends up with warm buildings that can withstand most of the horrible weather and freezing temperatures of the hostile planet.   The Last Chance Docks are surrounded on all sides by wooden palisades and massive wooden and metal spiked barricades. These are often laced with triggerable explosives and can serve as massive projectile weapons should the outpost be in dire straits. It has been several times in the past, and for unknown reasons has suffered repeated assaults by some of the planets largest and most terrifying Non-Sapient Xeno Apex Predators, often with the added insult of it happening during a massive Ice Storm. It has been thoroughly destroyed to the point of ruin 3 times before and has been rebuilt in the same location each time.   The Palisade Gates, both those facing the Slush and those facing the nearby rudimentary Shipyard, are the barrier for the notorious Game. The Sentinel of the Last Chance has been known to mete out instant justice to any Potentials who dare to bring the violence of trophy-jumping into her city with her massive, oversized Axe. The Last Chance offers some of the best amenities on the planet save for, of course, the Mountain itself.

The Shipyard

The Shipyard provides no protection, guarantees, repairs, or even refueling services. The only protections of leaving your ship in the Shipyard at the docks is that of the massive barricades protecting it from wandering Xenos and the general agreement of other Hunters to leave the ships alone. Most Hunters understand that should the Shipyard fall, life for everyone on Planet: Xanti would be painful and permanent, thus tend to keep violence out of the shipyard. However, it is not uncommon to see hunters carrying rocket launchers out of the shipyards into the Slush with them, nor is it uncommon to see ships coasting over the Slush take a sudden, unseen blast from an angry Hunter in the Slush. The depths of the Slush have claimed many an incautious pilot.

The Docks

The Dockside of the Last Chance offers multiple services geared towards Potentials (not all sanctioned by the guild). The two most common methods of travel are the Xanti: Longstriders and the IceHoppers, both of which can be rented or purchased with guides at the Docks.
A section of the Docks is dedicated the Stables, where purchased Longstriders, other tamed beasts, and IceHoppers are stored in rented stalls.

Val's Hall

The largest, most defensible building in the Last Chance is the massive Val's Hall. The long building stretches deep in the heart of the city and serves multiple purposes. It is the Hub of the city, one of the only places to get a stiff drink or dose of Element 129: Utopia, and has a wing dedicated to private rooms with beds for teams ranging from 4-10. The middle of the building serves as a seat of power for the Sentinel, complete with her home and barracks for her Guardians behind that. The final wing of the building serves as a haven and home for the Proven.

Crafting Quarter

A large chunk of the city is dedicated to craftsman. This term is used loosely at the Docks and ranges from Ammosmiths, Gunsmiths, Armorsmiths, etc to Taxidermists for Trophies and Carpenters for building the wall and barricades.
