Krasian Military Branches "Manifest"

The Armed Forces branch of the Krasian Meritocracy are officially termed the Manifest. The Manifest officially reports to the Minister of Glory to separate the direct military power from the influence of the Accolade, though in practice the Triad as a whole is their official Command Structure.

Organization

The Manifest is divided into multiple sub-divisions designating their collective tasks and responsibilities on the intergalactic scale.

Divisions

A Division is a grouping of several hundred to several thousand ships as well as several million personnel. These Divisions are assigned to general tasks by the Triad which span Galactic Regions such as Defend, Conquer, or Eradicate. Typically, the Krasian Meritocracy fields 3 permanent Divisions: 2 for the Territories and 1 for the Colonies. During the War of Colonization, 2 more Divisions were temporarily drawn and ultimately defeated in the Hersperus Nebula during their attempts to conquer the remaining resistance from Rimmers.

Fleet | Region

A Fleet is a sub-grouping within a Division that generally falls between 2-40 ships. They are typically assigned to specific tasks in 1-3 galactic regions and/or solar systems.

Unit | Ship

Personnel are divided from Fleets into individual Units. These Units often take the form of a single ship's crew and compliment, however they will also often take the form of a land-based Army typically referred to as an Occupation.

Squad

A Squad is a division of a Unit. This is typically a specialized, optimized force of 10-100 members assigned to a specific task or mission.

Fist | Wing

A Fist or Wing is a highly specialized team of trained Krasian soldiers comprising a skilled, unified combat force. Fists are typically comprised of a Guardian, Vanguard, Breacher, Scout, and often a Titan. Wings are teams of coordinated strike-fighter pilots. Fists and Wings both typically have an attached non-combat support Fist, jokingly referred to as a Wrist by many enlisted personnel, that are responsible for maintaining their equipment, vehicles, and supplies.

Structure

High Command

Minister of Glory

The Minister of Glory is the official leader of the Manifest and the final say on its operations as a balance of power against the Accolade. It is the primary representative to the Triad, though in practice the position has proven itself beholden to final command of the Accolade.

Military Command

High Admiral

Commander of Coordinated Fleet, called a Division, which often spans several hundred to several thousand ships over a galactic Region. There have been at least 2 but commonly 3 since the War of Colonization. One is assigned to defense of the Krasian Colonies while the other 1-2 are responsible for defense of Krasian Territories, often split into Northern GS and Southern GS borders.

Admiral

Admirals are Commanders of individual Fleets, typically numbering between 2-40 ships.

Captain

Captains are Commanders of their individual Ships or Units.
Captains of Units holding conquered territories, regions, or planets will often be granted the acting title of Provincial Commander while in a position of holding martial law, granting military and political control over that region. When a Captain is a Provincial Commander, the Unit is commonly referred to as an Occupation, denoting their temporary responsibilities to conquer, suppress, pacify, and protect.

Exceptions

Specialized and isolated units, such as the Demons, are often assigned a Captain as well. Even though the size of these operative units is often comparable to a Fist, they are treated as a similar entity to a Ship or Unit.

Lieutenant

Lieutenants are often the right hands of Captains. Lieutenants are responsible for Squads.

Lieutenant Commander

Lieutenant Commanders are Lieutenants granted an Executive Officer position. While they are not granted command over a Squad, they are often responsible for serving as the Captain's right hand and hold responsibility over the Captain's direct staff.

Corporal

The leader of a Fist or Wing is often a Corporal unless under the direct command of the Lieutenant. They are typically the highest ranking officer in an individual Fist while being the highest non-Command rank.

Sergeant

Sergeants are typically the right-hand of the leader of a Fist or Squad and are the primary liaison between a Captain and Corporal and their men. It is often said that a good Sergeant is what makes or breaks the success of a Fist.

Lance Officer

A Lance Officer, commonly referred to simply as Officer, is the rank of any fully trained, combat-tested soldier within the Krasian Meritocracy. To obtain the rank, they must have seen active combat or "proven themselves meritoriously" enough to obtain recommendation for Designated Active Service, which is typically recommended by their initial Squad's Sergeant, Corporal, or Captain.

Ensign

Ensign is the designation for any trained soldier who has yet to obtain Designated Active Service. They are rarely seen outside of isolated training Squads intended to test the merit and mettle of trained soldiers before promotion to Lance Officer and transfer to active duty.

Cadet

Cadets are Krasian residents, proven Provincial Peacekeepers, or "twice-tested once-proven" non-residents who have been permitted to be officially trained at one of the Krasian Territory training facilities.

Provincial Peacekeepers

Provincial Peacekeepers, often referred to as Blackshirts, are temporarily contracted civilian resources on hostile designation planets. Whether due to rebellion, recent conquer, or protests, Krasian Meritocracy forces typically create a temporary auxiliary of loyal collaborators in returns for property, resources, or even promotion to Cadet with proven service.

History

Their name is originally based on the old-Earth American concept of Manifest Destiny. This is to demonstrate the inherent mandate of the Krasian Armed Forces to inhabit and conquer any systems in the Human Colonized Space until they ultimately have borders stretching across the entire universe.
