Trey Quincy
Magister Trey Quincy is a renowned mage in New World history. Having participated in the Taking of the Lost Coast, Quincy and his disciples were responsible for mapping and cleansing several Folds that are now havens - among them the city of Kingsport and Lake Hargrave. This has earned him the sobriquet of "Protector of the Lost Coast".
In the years that followed the Taking of the Lost Coast, Trey Quincy vanished. Many believed him to have been a victim of one of his dangerous incursions into unmapped folds, since not even his disciples could ascertain his whereabouts.
History
Hunter, Master, Hermit
Magister Trey Quincy is a legend among those who lived in the time before the advent of the Council in the New World. To them, he is still known as the Protector of the Lost Coast. Quincy is responsible for teaching and directing several adepts that roamed the Lost Coast during the formative years of United States' magical society, eliminating magical threats and sealing mysterious Shores that led to unknown locations. Master Quincy was famous for his stern demeanor and the habit of embracing his subordinates as apprentices, and many had this privilege during the events of the Taking. His habit was made official when he decided to hand-pick some of his old disciples and form an elite Coven specialized in containing the mysterious Shores that peppered the Lost Coast. In the last years of the Taking, however, his disciples gradually took on more discreet roles in magical society, slowly disappearing into anonimity. Quincy then disappeared for the next 80 years.a Disruptive Homecoming
In 2014 Trey Quincy emerged from his long exile, quietly at first, but with a swift and unexpected stroke to guarantee his position in society. While his return was but a rumour to most practitioners, Master Quincy was suddenly announced as the newest professor to join the Red Academy, becoming responsible for important disciplines of the Department of Spellcrafting. A procession of admirers and inquisitive folk came to the city of Kingsport in the first few weeks, reacting with equal parts interest and fright what had become of the Protector of the Lost Coast. Far from fulfilling the expectations of perpetual youth placed upon powerful practitioners, Quincy had aged severely. Those who managed to overcome their frustration, however, could tell that he had lost nothing of his former lordliness.Abilities
Those who had the pleasure to know Master Trey Quincy in the times before his exile, back when he earned the sobriquet of Protector of the Lost Coast, know at a glance that his power is but pale reflection of what it once was. On the other hand, his mind doubtlessly remains as sharp as it used to be, and Quincy has all the perks that come with being an long lived practitioner. Having amassed a few lives worth of arcane knowledge, though not outright powerful, his experience and honed form makes him an incredibly versatile practitioner, enchanting anything he can lay his hands on with simple but precise spells. His age has nonetheless taken it's toll, and Master Quincy can't rely on his personal firepower when faced with the larger threats that loom over the world behind the Veil. Against such threats he calls upon a magical bow called Eleonora. Crafted with wood from a sacred sycamore, Quincy hasn't dared enchant it beyond its original state, leading to rumors that it was a gift from someone dear. It is not known if the bow has any special capabilities other than the magical properties of the wood itself, but he often crafts enchanted arrows according to his needs. Magister Amadeu Salvador comments that the bowstring is also highly magical, although even he couldn't ascertain its origin.Brief
